Andrew Stoltmann Esq.

Andrew Stoltmann concentrates his practice in representing individuals, shareholders and business owners in lawsuits and arbitration claims.  He has represented over one thousand individuals in lawsuits and arbitration actions against companies, banks and brokerage firms.  Previous to opening the Stoltmann Law Offices P.C. he was a partner in a law firm concentrating its practice in class action lawsuits and lawsuits against various corporations for fraud, negligence and breaches of fiduciary duties.

Mr. Stoltmann is currently an adjunct securities law professor at Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago. Mr. Stoltmann is currently on the Board of Directors for the Public Investor Arbitration Bar Association (PIABA), an international bar association of attorneys whose members represent investors in lawsuits with the banks, brokerage firms and insurance companies.  He became the Executive Vice President/President elect of PIABA in October of 2016 and will become the President of the organization in October of 2017.  He was the Editor-In-Chief of the PIABA Bar Journal from 2001 through 2005.  He was voted an Illinois legal Rising Star from 2008 through 2012 and voted a Super Lawyer by his legal peers in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Mr. Stoltmann worked as a licensed stockbroker for Olde Discount and Merrill Lynch. While in law school at DePaul University, Mr. Stoltmann clerked at the Chicago NASD Dispute Resolution office (now called FINRA), where 95% of securities arbitration cases are decided.

Alexander Loftus Esq.

Alexander Loftus has won a wide range of significant cases through mediation, arbitration, and trial including claims arising from breach of contract, fraud, construction, shareholder suits, malpractice, and employment. Alexander has handled appeals before the Seventh Circuit, Illinois Appellate Courts, Illinois Supreme Court, and United States Supreme Court. He has tried nearly twenty cases to verdict in state and federal courts in several states and argued dozens of dispositive motions from the Delaware Court of Chancery to Madison County, Illinois.

Alexander went to college in Saint Paul, Minnesota and Washington, D.C. In college he studied Political Science and was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha (national political science honor society). While studying at American University, Alexander held his first legal position as an investigator for Mental Health Division of Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. Shortly thereafter, he graduated from DePaul University College of Law with honors in 2010. While at DePaul he was an Editor and Staff Writer for the DePaul/Commercial Law League of America Business & Commercial Law Journal.

Michael McCormick Esq.

Michael McCormick is an experienced litigator handling commercial litigation in state and federal courts since 1980.  He has extensive first, second and third chair trial experience representing plaintiffs and defendants before federal and state trial and appellate courts throughout the country and before regulatory agencies. His commercial litigation experience includes breach of contract, employment contract actions, fraud, bankruptcy litigation, compliance, banking litigation, bank fraud, lender liability, breaches of fiduciary duty, antitrust, officers’ and directors’ liability, corporate disputes, shareholder disputes, and all types of diversity jurisdiction litigation.

His experience also includes securities litigation including class actions, securities fraud, commodities fraud, options fraud, insider trading, arbitrations, exchange disciplinary actions, churning, unauthorized trading and commission disputes. His federal court litigation experience includes individual and class actions representing plaintiffs and defendants in contract and fraud actions, bankruptcy adversary proceedings and actions under statutes including RICO, the ADA, ADEA, Title VII, Section 1983, the Lanham Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, False Claims Act and antitrust statutes.

Mr. McCormick worked for Coffield Ungaretti & Harris (n/k/a Nixon Peabody) in Chicago Chicago for 17 years.  After graduating from Northwestern University in Evanston Illinois in 1975 with a B.A. History and a mathematics minor 1975, he graduated from Loyola University Chicago  Law School in 1978.  He is certified by the National Institute For Trial Advocacy at Notre Dame School of Law to teach trial advocacy skills to law students and attorneys.  After graduating from law school, Mr. McCormick served a two-year clerkship for the Honorable Frank J. McGarr, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois, Chicago IL, from 1978-1980.
